McIntosh Stereo Amplifiers

Through the 1960’s and 70’s McIntosh changed the face of American electronics in quite a literal way; they made it blue! The signature blue-faced output meters became not only a symbol for McIntosh, but they became a symbol for ingenuity and progress in all of the audio industry. Throughout the mid-late twentieth century, and well into the future I suspect, McIntosh has pioneered the music industry. Even the Woodstock Music Festival of ’69 was littered with more than just hippies and music snobs; it was amped up by McIntosh stereo amplifiers. A few years later, in 1974, The Grateful Dead premiered “Wall of Sound” on McIntosh amplifiers in San Fran.
